Getting Started

Dress the Duel's loop is: play Outfit cards to equip costumes → build Posture → hit harder → survive longer. Here's what to focus on.

Understand Posture Before Anything Else

Posture is your primary damage multiplier. Every costume slot you fill accumulates Posture, and Posture makes all your attacks hit harder. Prioritise outfit cards that build Posture quickly.

Key Posture-focused cards to look for:

  • Lionheart Battle Tunic — 9 Block + Posture scaling
  • Skirt of Ascension — 12 Block + gains +1 Posture whenever any slot gains Posture
  • Battle — 12 Block + 5 Posture per layer removed

Balance Block and Posture

Most outfit cards give both Block (immediate protection) and Posture (long-term damage). Don't skip Block cards early — enemies telegraph their attacks and a well-timed Block can save your run.

Be Careful When Removing Costumes

Disrobing mid-combat is powerful but risky:

  • Lighten Load (remove a costume → draw 1, gain 2 energy) is great utility
  • Costumes with Bind cannot be removed at all
  • Costumes with Curse trigger debuffs on removal — check before equipping

Early Enemy Tips

Pumpkin Scarecrow (Floor 1): ~20 HP, hits for 10. Use this fight to equip costumes and build Posture cheaply. Don't waste resources.

Cloaked Shadow (Elite): ~90 HP, hits for 18. Stack Block before engaging. Its high damage resists armour-heavy builds — use Posture-based damage to pressure it down.

FAQ

How do I deal more damage?+

Build Posture by equipping Outfit cards. Posture directly amplifies all attack damage — the more costumes you have equipped, the harder you hit.

Can I remove costumes mid-combat?+

Yes. Cards like Lighten Load let you remove a costume for energy and card draw. Be careful of Cursed costumes — they trigger debuffs when removed.

What is Block?+

Block negates incoming damage and expires at the start of your next turn. Most Outfit cards provide Block as well as Posture.
