Dress the Duel's loop is: play Outfit cards to equip costumes → build Posture → hit harder → survive longer. Here's what to focus on.
Posture is your primary damage multiplier. Every costume slot you fill accumulates Posture, and Posture makes all your attacks hit harder. Prioritise outfit cards that build Posture quickly.
Key Posture-focused cards to look for:
Most outfit cards give both Block (immediate protection) and Posture (long-term damage). Don't skip Block cards early — enemies telegraph their attacks and a well-timed Block can save your run.
Disrobing mid-combat is powerful but risky:
Pumpkin Scarecrow (Floor 1): ~20 HP, hits for 10. Use this fight to equip costumes and build Posture cheaply. Don't waste resources.
Cloaked Shadow (Elite): ~90 HP, hits for 18. Stack Block before engaging. Its high damage resists armour-heavy builds — use Posture-based damage to pressure it down.
| Node | Icon | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Combat | ⚔️ | Standard fight — good for building Posture |
| Elite | 💀 | Hard fight — only attempt with a solid outfit stack |
| Merchant | 💰 | Buy outfit cards; sell gear for gold |
| Campfire | 🏕️ | Rest and upgrade |
| Mystery | ❓ | Random event — can sell equipped gear for gold |
Build Posture by equipping Outfit cards. Posture directly amplifies all attack damage — the more costumes you have equipped, the harder you hit.
Yes. Cards like Lighten Load let you remove a costume for energy and card draw. Be careful of Cursed costumes — they trigger debuffs when removed.
Block negates incoming damage and expires at the start of your next turn. Most Outfit cards provide Block as well as Posture.
